The main obstacles of having Dutch Lessons online?

Actually, there are no real obstacles to learning Dutch online. All my students can perfectly introduce themselves and someone else in Dutch after 1 or 2 lessons. They can all say where they come from, where they live now, their initial greeting, their name, where they work, their mother tongue and other languages they speak, their nationality, how old they are, where their country of birth is located on the map, form a negative sentence, and say that it's nice to meet you.... And all of this in just 1 or 2 lessons Dutch online!

Of course, we all have different backgrounds and some people find it easier to learn a new language than others. But whether you come from Japan, Brazil, Iran, Poland, South Africa, Canada, or Spain, all my students so far have been able to do this. So why not you? You can do it too!

The sky is the limit when you're having Dutch Lessons!

After this comprehensive introduction, we naturally go on to learn to count and practice correct pronunciation, learn many new words and verbs, form short sentences, and ask specific practical questions that we can use in daily life. For example: "Can I have two cups of coffee and a croissant, please?" ("Mag ik twee kopjes koffie en een croissant alsjeblieft?") or "Can I ask you something, please? Where is the museum?" ("Mag ik je iets vragen alsjeblieft? Waar is het museum?").

One thing that we must be honest about is that some students put in a bit more effort outside of the Dutch lessons than others. They do extra exercises (possibly provided by me) and they review previous lessons. These students logically progress faster than those who do not. But this is, of course, something very personal. Not everyone has the same motivation for learning Dutch, the same goal, and the same opportunities to learn Dutch online. We all know that it is incredibly difficult to do extra things like learning Dutch after a long workday and managing a private life. It's much more enjoyable to plop down on your couch in the evening and watch a good series on Netflix than to do some Dutch exercises.

That's why I always try to make my online lessons as pleasant as possible, in a fun ambiance with a sense of reality.

For students who are already at a higher level, it often becomes easier. They dare to use their accumulated knowledge in daily life, and thus they gain more and more self-confidence.

In short, no matter what your starting level is, you will always make great strides in learning Dutch, which is super motivating, fun, and boosts your self-confidence! Give it a try, and you'll see that you'll agree with me after a series of lessons.
